Box mods wholesale: Geekvape, Voopoo, Eleaf and Innokin
This collection holds box mods sold on their own, without a tank: the battery and control end of a refillable setup. They suit vapers who already own a tank they like, or who want to build their own combination of mod and atomiser.
The range runs from small, simple mods for mouth-to-lung vaping to larger, rugged devices for sub-ohm users, with colour picked on each listing.
The first question with any mod is how it's powered. It changes what else the customer needs to buy.
Built-in battery
Charged by cable like a phone. Simple for the customer, but the mod is retired when the battery wears out.
Removable cells
Takes 18650, 20700 or 21700 cells. Customers need vape batteries and ideally a charger.
Single or dual cell
Dual-cell mods run longer and reach higher power, but need matched pairs of cells.
Squonk mods
Bottom-feed mods like the Dovpo Topside suit experienced users of rebuildable atomisers.
Check each listing to see how a mod is powered before recommending it. A customer who buys a removable-cell mod without batteries will be back the same day, so offer cells and a charger at the till.
Mods, tanks and the reusable vape rules
A box mod is one half of a reusable vape. These rules shape what you sell alongside it:
Reusable by design
A reusable vape needs a rechargeable battery, a refillable container and a replaceable coil. A mod and tank together meet all three.
Parts available
Guidance says coils and other replacement parts should be on sale separately for the devices you stock.
2ml for nicotine
Under TPD, tanks used with nicotine e-liquid are limited to 2ml capacity.
No duty on hardware
Vaping Products Duty is charged on liquid, not on empty mods, tanks or coils.
Mods are electrical goods, so WEEE take-back applies. Our retailer compliance guide covers the single-use ban and TPD, and the vape tax guide explains the duty on e-liquid.
Buying box mods for your shop
Points worth considering when ordering mods:
Stock a tank to suit. Offer a few vape tanks so customers can buy a complete setup.
Mix sizes. One or two compact mods and one or two larger ones cover most customers.
Order hardware together. Mods, tanks and cells count towards free delivery over £150.
Frequently asked questions
What is a box mod?
+
A box mod is the battery and control unit of a refillable vape, sold without a tank. The customer pairs it with a tank or atomiser of their choice. Mods range from simple single-button devices to larger units with screens and adjustable power settings.
Do box mods come with batteries?
+
Some have a built-in battery that charges by cable; others take removable 18650, 20700 or 21700 cells, which are sold separately. Check each listing to see how a mod is powered, and offer cells and a charger with removable-cell models.
What's the difference between a mod and a vape kit?
+
A mod is sold on its own. A vape kit includes a mod and a matching tank in one box. Kits suit customers buying their first refillable setup, while mods suit customers who already own a tank or want to choose one separately.
Which tanks fit these mods?
+
Most box mods use the standard 510 connection, so they accept a wide range of tanks. Check the tank's diameter against the mod's top plate if appearance matters. Under TPD, tanks used with nicotine e-liquid must hold no more than 2ml.
Is there duty on box mods?
+
No. Vaping Products Duty is charged on vaping liquid at £2.20 per 10ml from 1 October 2026. Empty devices, including mods, tanks and coils, don't carry the duty. The e-liquid your customers use in them does carry it, including nicotine-free liquid.
Do I need to offer take-back on old mods?
+
Mods are electrical goods, so WEEE rules apply. Retailers must offer take-back, either in store when a customer buys a similar item or through the Distributor Take-back Scheme. Shops selling over 32kg of portable batteries a year must also take back waste batteries free.
Complete the setup with a tank
Pair mods with vape tanks, coils and batteries, or choose a ready-matched vape kit. All vape products are sold to over-18s only.
