Vape cotton wholesale: three wicking lines

This is a small, focused collection of wicking cotton for customers who build their own coils. There are three products: Cotton Bacon and Cotton Bacon Prime from Wick N Vape, and Swag Cotton. Each is sold as a single pack.

Cotton is the consumable that rebuilders replace most often. A coil can last for weeks, but the wick inside it is changed far more often, so a customer who builds will come back for cotton regularly once they find one they like.

Cotton Bacon

Wicking cotton from Wick N Vape that many rebuilders already ask for by name. A straightforward first line for any shop starting a rebuild shelf. View Cotton Bacon.

Cotton Bacon Prime

The Prime version of the same brand, for customers who already use Cotton Bacon and want the alternative. Stock both and let regulars choose. View Cotton Bacon Prime.

Swag Cotton

A second brand, so the shelf isn't reliant on one name if a customer prefers a different feel. View Swag Cotton. Coil heads for standard tanks are in vape coils.

Who buys wicking cotton

Cotton sells to a narrower group than pods or e-liquid, but that group is loyal and buys often. It helps to know who they are.

  • Rebuilders

Customers with rebuildable tanks or drippers who wrap their own coils and rewick them every few days.

  • Mod users

People with box mods are more likely to experiment with rebuilding than pod kit users.

  • Flavour chasers

Some vapers rewick often to get a clean taste each time they switch e-liquid.

  • Regulars

Once a customer settles on a brand, they tend to buy it on every visit.

Because cotton is light and inexpensive, it works well as a counter add-on next to vape tanks and spare glass. A small, visible display near the till reminds rebuilders to pick up a pack before they run out.

Rules and care for coil-building supplies

Cotton is simpler to sell than most vape lines, but there are still points worth knowing:

  • No vaping duty

Duty is charged on vaping liquid at £2.20 per 10ml from 1 October 2026. Cotton contains none, so no duty or stamp applies.

  • Over-18s only

Treat cotton like the rest of your vape range. Rebuilding is for adult vapers, and we supply trade customers aged 18 and over.

  • Prime before use

Customers should soak fresh cotton with e-liquid before firing, as a dry wick burns quickly and tastes harsh.

  • Store it sealed

Keep packs closed and dry, away from smells and dust, so the cotton stays clean until it's used.

Coil building also needs care with resistance and battery limits, so customers new to rebuilding should start with ready-made coils. Our retailer compliance guide covers the age-of-sale and 2026 rules for the wider vape range.

Stocking cotton sensibly

A few tips for a small cotton range:

  • Start with all three. With only three lines, stocking each gives rebuilders a real choice from day one.
  • Keep it near the hardware. Shelve cotton beside tanks and coils so customers see it when buying parts.
  • Ask rebuilders what they use. Regulars will tell you their preferred brand; keep that one in depth.
  • Add it to bigger orders. Cotton costs little to add, and there's no minimum order, so top up whenever you buy other stock.

Frequently asked questions

What is wicking cotton used for?

Wicking cotton is threaded through a hand-built coil in a rebuildable tank or dripper. It soaks up e-liquid and feeds it to the coil as it heats. Customers replace the cotton when the taste turns muted or burnt, which is usually far more often than they replace the coil wire.

What's the difference between Cotton Bacon and Cotton Bacon Prime?

Both come from Wick N Vape and are sold separately here. Prime is the brand's alternative version for rebuilders who want to try a different wick. The simplest approach is to stock both and let customers who already use one brand pick the version they prefer.

How often do customers rewick?

It depends on how much they vape and which e-liquid they use. Sweeter liquids tend to gunk cotton faster. Many rebuilders rewick every few days or whenever they change flavour, which is why cotton becomes a regular purchase for this group of customers.

Is there vaping duty on cotton?

No. Vaping Products Duty is charged on vaping liquid at £2.20 per 10ml from 1 October 2026. Cotton contains no liquid, so it carries no vaping duty and needs no duty stamp. Standard VAT still applies to the price, as with the rest of your accessories.

Should beginners use cotton and rebuildables?

Rebuilding suits experienced vapers who understand coil resistance and their battery's limits. Customers new to vaping are better off with ready-made coil heads or pods, and can move to rebuilding later. Staff should be comfortable explaining this before recommending cotton.

Can I order cotton with the rest of my stock?

Yes. Cotton sits in the same basket as coils, tanks and e-liquid, and there is no minimum order, so a single pack is fine. Free delivery applies on orders over £150, and you'll see any delivery charge at checkout before you pay.
