Empty or prefilled: two ways to use an Xlim
Having both empty and prefilled Xlim pods means one device can serve two kinds of customer. It's worth explaining the difference at the counter.
- Empty pods
The customer fills them from a 10ml bottle of nic salt or 50/50 e-liquid. Lower running cost and any flavour they like.
- Prefilled pods
Sealed and ready to use. Simpler for customers who liked the convenience of disposables.
- Same kit, both options
Prefilled and empty Xlim pods are aimed at Xlim kits; confirm the models on each listing.
- Pricing
Prefilled pods carry duty on their liquid, so their price per pod is higher than empty ones.
Many customers start on prefilled pods and switch to empty ones once they see the saving. Stocking both keeps that customer with you either way.
Duty, the ban and OXVA pods
Replacement pods are part of what makes a pod kit a reusable vape under the single-use vapes ban, in force in England since 1 June 2025. Government guidance says refills and replacement parts should be available to buy separately.
- Empty pods: no duty
Vaping Products Duty is charged on liquid only, so empty Xlim and Oneo pods carry none.
- Prefilled pods: duty applies
At £2.20 per 10ml from 1 October 2026, a 2ml prefilled pod carries 44p of duty and needs a duty stamp.
- Older stock
Unstamped prefilled stock made or imported before 1 October 2026 can be sold until 31 March 2027.
- TPD limits
Prefilled pods hold no more than 2ml, with nicotine at 20mg/ml or less.

- Compare per pod. All lines are packs of 3, so compare cost per pod against other replacement pods.
