Matching an Aspire pod to the customer's kit
Aspire pods aren't universal. A customer who walks in with an Aspire device needs the pod made for that family, and getting it right first time saves a return.
- Ask for the kit name
The model is usually printed on the device. Gotek, Minican and Cyber are the names you'll hear most.
- Read the pod listing
Each pod listing names the kits it's made for. Where a title names a kit, as with Minican Plus, that's the starting point.
- Note the resistance
The Minican Plus pods are 0.8ohm. Resistance affects which e-liquid suits it, so mention it to the customer.
- Price per pod
Packs of 2 make the cost per pod easy to work out when you set your shelf price.
Keep a simple chart behind the counter listing each Aspire kit you sell and the pod it takes. It speeds up sales and helps new staff.
Empty pods: no duty, but required stock
Replacement pods sit at the centre of the single-use vapes ban. In England since 1 June 2025, a reusable vape needs a refillable container and a replaceable coil, which can be inside a replaceable pod. Government guidance says refills and parts should be on sale separately.
- No vaping duty
Vaping Products Duty is charged on liquid. Empty Aspire pods carry none.
- Duty on the refill
The e-liquid customers put in them carries £2.20 per 10ml from 1 October 2026.
- Proof at inspection
Retailers may be asked to show that pods for the kits they sell are available.
- 2ml rule for liquid
TPD limits prefilled pods and tanks to 2ml; empty pods are filled by the user from 10ml bottles.

Ordering Aspire pods
A few tips for keeping Aspire pods in stock:
- Reorder with kits. Every Aspire kit sold is a future pod customer, so order pods in step with kit sales.
- Hold all four lines. With only four Aspire pod lines, stocking each one covers most requests.
- Pair with coils. For Aspire devices with separate coils, add Aspire coils to the order.
- Suggest a liquid. 0.8ohm pods suit nic salts and 50/50 e-liquid for mouth-to-lung vaping.

Which Aspire pods do you stock?

Will Gotek pods fit every Gotek kit?

Aspire makes several Gotek models, and pod fit can differ between them. Check the kit names listed on the pod product page before ordering, and if a customer's model isn't listed, confirm with the device packaging or ask us.
How long does an Aspire pod last?

It depends on how much the customer vapes and the e-liquid used. Most pods with a built-in coil are replaced every week or two, when flavour fades or a burnt taste appears. Sweet, dark liquids tend to wear them out sooner.
Is vaping duty charged on Aspire pods?

No. Vaping Products Duty applies to vaping liquid at £2.20 per 10ml from 1 October 2026. Empty refillable pods contain no liquid, so they carry no duty, though the e-liquid used to fill them does.
Do I have to sell pods if I sell Aspire kits?

Government guidance on the single-use vapes ban says replacement parts for reusable vapes should be available separately, and Trading Standards may check. Stocking Aspire pods alongside the kits meets that and brings customers back.
Can I combine Aspire pods with other products for free delivery?

Yes. Free delivery applies to orders over £150. Aspire pods can go in the same order as kits, coils, e-liquids and other brands to reach that total, and any delivery charge shows at checkout.
