Pixl kits and the reusable vape rules
Since 1 June 2025, single-use vapes can't be sold in England. Pixl kits qualify as reusable because the battery recharges, the pod is replaced and the coil sits inside that replaceable pod. The rules also expect a few things from you:
- Sell the refills
GOV.UK guidance says replacement pods should be available to buy separately, and inspectors may ask to see them.
- Duty on every pod
Vaping Products Duty is £2.20 per 10ml from 1 October 2026, so a 2ml prefilled pod carries 44p.
- Duty stamps
Duty-paid stock released from 1 October 2026 needs a stamp; older unstamped stock can be sold until 31 March 2027.
- Over-18s only
From 29 October 2026 the Tobacco and Vapes Act sets 18 as the age of sale for all vapes, with £200 fixed penalties.
