What the rules mean for SKE kits
Each kit here has a rechargeable battery and a prefilled pod with the coil built in, which GOV.UK accepts as a reusable vape under the single-use ban that began on 1 June 2025. Points to keep in mind:
- Pods to buy separately
Guidance says replacement pods should be available, and retailers may be asked to show this at inspection.
- Duty per pod
At £2.20 per 10ml from 1 October 2026, each 2ml prefilled pod carries 44p of duty.
- Stamps and old stock
Duty stamps are needed on stock released from 1 October 2026; unstamped earlier stock can be sold until 31 March 2027.
- 18+ for all vapes
From 29 October 2026, the age of sale covers every vape, including nicotine-free ones.

Are SKE Crystal kits the same as Crystal Bar disposables?

No. The original Crystal Bar was a single-use vape, which can't be sold in England since 1 June 2025. These kits keep familiar Crystal flavours but use a rechargeable battery and replaceable prefilled pods, so they're legal to sell.
Do all SKE kits use the same pods?

No. Each kit family has its own pod: Bar 6K, Bar 15k, 30k Pro Max and Crystal Plus pods are listed separately. Check the product listing before ordering, and keep the pods labelled by kit on your shelf to avoid mix-ups.
How much duty is in each SKE pod?

Vaping Products Duty is £2.20 per 10ml from 1 October 2026. Prefilled pods hold a maximum of 2ml under TPD, so each pod carries 44p. Duty-paid stock released from that date must carry a duty stamp.
Can I buy SKE pods without kits?

Yes. SKE replacement and refill pods are listed as separate products and collected on our SKE Crystal refill pods page. Guidance on the single-use ban says refills should be available to buy separately, so stocking them is expected.
What age do customers need to be?

Customers must be 18 or over. From 29 October 2026 the Tobacco and Vapes Act sets 18 as the age of sale for every vaping product, and Trading Standards can issue £200 fixed penalty notices for underage sales.
