A reusable vape needs a removable or replaceable coil. Tanks with coil heads meet this.

Guidance says replacement coils and parts should be available to buy separately for the devices you stock.
No duty on tanks
Vaping Products Duty is £2.20 per 10ml of liquid from 1 October 2026; empty tanks and coils carry none.

What's the difference between an MTL tank and a sub-ohm tank?

An MTL (mouth-to-lung) tank has a tighter draw, similar to a cigarette, and suits nic salts and 50/50 e-liquid. A sub-ohm tank has a more open draw for direct-to-lung vaping with high-VG liquid and lower nicotine. The coil resistance is usually the giveaway.
How much e-liquid can a tank hold under UK rules?

Under TPD, tanks used with nicotine e-liquid are limited to 2ml capacity. Nicotine-free shortfills fall outside that limit, but a tank sold for general use should be the compliant version. Check the capacity on each listing before ordering, and tell customers why the limit exists.
Do I need to stock coils for these tanks?

Yes. Coils wear out regularly, and government guidance on the single-use vape ban says replacement parts such as coils should be available to buy separately. Stocking the right coil series for each tank also brings customers back every week or two.
Will these tanks fit any mod?

Most tanks use a standard 510 connection and fit most box mods. Pod tanks such as the Voopoo PnP-X and TPP use a 510 adapter. Check the tank diameter against the mod if the look matters, and pair high-power tanks with mods that can drive them.
Is there duty on vape tanks?

No. Vaping Products Duty is charged on vaping liquid at £2.20 per 10ml from 1 October 2026. Empty tanks, coils and mods don't carry it. The e-liquid customers put in the tank does carry it, including nicotine-free shortfills, so a 100ml shortfill carries £22.
What should I do if a customer's tank glass breaks?

Check whether replacement glass is listed for that tank in our accessories range. Glass is model-specific, so match the exact tank name. If no glass is available, a new tank from the same series means the customer can keep using their existing coils.
